The required professional figure must be able to:
• Develop PV/HE data sheets according to Customer technical specifications.
• Evaluate / align technically the vendors’ quotations.
• Develop purchasing technical specifications for pressure vessels.
• Review the documentation provided by the vendor according to project specifications for its entire duration (drawings, procedures, calculation reports).
• Manage and evaluate the changes applied to the pressure vessels.
• Provide the required information to the different departments working on the project: Sales Department, Engineering Department, Quality Department and Workshop with reference to every aspect of design of PV/HE.
• Coordinate the drawings production for construction details: ladders, walkways, stands with the management of relevant calculation reports.
• Coordinate / implement / check the calculation reports for the structural checks of PV/HE according to the contractual calculation code.
• Evaluate / comment / review vendor’s Quality Control Plan according to Customer’s specification.
• Evaluate / comment / review vendor’s Manufacturing Procedures according to Customer’s specification.
• Solve / support the supplier regarding every aspect related to manufacturing issues.
• Manage possible Non-Conformities in collaboration with the Quality Department.
• Coordinate the whole documentation and certification (including Manuals and Technical Passports/Dossiers, if any) for PV/HE.
• Specify and draw, when required, the internal parts of PV/HE.
• Coordinate the activities between the PV/HE vendor and other suppliers of different equipment.
• “Mentoring” activity directed to the Junior PV/HE Engineer
Education and Experience: Degree in Mechanical Engineering 10 years of experience in engineering department as a PV/HE Engineer in Oil & Gas sector.
Depth knowledge of international design codes with special reference to ASME BPV Section VIII Div.1 e Div.2, TEMA, API 660, PED, GOST, AD2000, EN 13445, VSR, VSG, UHX/TEMA 7, 8, 9 UBC, ASCE 7-05, Eurocodice 3, AISC for verification calculations to wind and earthquake, NACE, NORSOK for the design of equipment in corrosive environments.
Experience in design management according to project technical specifications
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and by e-mail with colleagues and with suppliers / customers.
Ability to pass on his/her experience to Junior colleagues.
Experience in team work Self-motivated Knowledge of related disciplines, including but not limited to: access equipment, surface preparation, welding (in particular ASME V, ASME IX), supports for thermal insulation and fire proofing, piping supports, seats sizing, drawings for lifting and erection.
Computer skills: Microsoft Office software, PVElite, Codeware Compress, Sant’Ambrogio – with special focus on WRC-107/WRC-537– FEM analysis for management of interfaces PV/HE – piping. Autocad 2D.
Languages: English. English language is essential for documents drafting, reading, interpretation of project technical specifications and communications with suppliers / customers.
